I chose to study at Houghall due to its outstanding equine facilities, the positive lecturer reputation and good transport links that made for an easy commute. I also attended an open evening and got to see the brand new classrooms and indoor horse arena, and that's what sold me on the college.

Positive Steps Childcare Nursery
Found on-site at East Durham College's Peterlee campus, our Positive Steps nursery makes attendance at college easier by providing childcare facilities for those students who may have young children. It's also open to members of the public looking for childcare.

Land Based Engineering Workshop
Our Land Based Engineering Workshop underwent a massive upgrade in 2024, meaning our students are training in a revamped workshop with loads of brand new specialist engineering equipment.
