Financial Support (19+)

Find out more information on how we can support adult learners above the age of 19 financially.

Help and support is available on an individual basis and the College can help with:

  • Childcare
  • Travel to and from College
  • Help with essential materials to support your study
  • Help to support travel to and from essential work experience placements

Please note: Payments from the Discretionary Support Fund or Student Benefits Fund may affect any social security benefits. To find out how a bursary would impact on your benefits, please contact an experienced adviser at your local Jobcentre Plus.

Advanced Learner Loan

Aged 19 or over and thinking about further education?

If you're aged 19 or over and want to study A Levels, an Access to Higher Education Diploma, or a Level 3 to 6 Vocational Qualification, you'll need to pay your college or training organisation for the cost of your course.

The Advanced Learner Loan is a government-funded loan to help learners. It's easy to apply for, doesn’t take your household income into account and doesn’t involve a credit check.

These loans help you to pay the fees charged by approved colleges and training organisations in England.
