Course overview
This course is designed to develop your barbering skills to a senior barber level. Classes will be taught by our award winning lecturer on a part time basis - 7 hours a week with:
- 3 hrs practical session-working with paying clients
- 2 hrs theory/academic study skills
- 2 hrs cutting/shaving skills training
Homework is also an integral part of the course, where activities are completed via the college Canvas site and employer involvement will also be an integral part of the course in the form of guest lectures and master classes.
Topics
This qualification covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for working in the barbering industry, including these compulsory areas:
- Cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques
- Design and create facial hair shapes
- Shaving services
- Barbering consultation services
- Design and create patterns in the hair
Job opportunities after this course
Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that the individual has the skills and knowledge of health & safety, customer service, and also has the necessary advanced cutting, shaving and styling skills necessary to be employed as a senior barber.

Entry requirements
Level 2 Ladies/Gents Hair Diploma or equivalent industry training, Level 2 functional skills in Maths/English or working towards is desirable.
